Wow, is it me or is it starting to be more and more steps to follow someone.
We round em’ up in circles. We click the Facebook like, send and share buttons. We accept or invite them to LinkedIn. And if they’re lucky we may even opt-in to their email list via their blog or website.
So now that we have spent half a morning circling, liking, following and plussing people what will we do with all those we liked, followed, plussed and circled yesterday? Or how about the 15 we did the same thing to the day before? And the day before. And the day before that?
A tweet, Google+, or Facebook post grabs our attention. Within seconds we get lost in never ever ending like land.
But why do we like! Why do we circle? Do we really like them? Or do we circle them so they will circle us?
Our time is our greatest asset. Even the moments you spend roundin’ up peeps via clicks, like and circles should be spent wisely!
Do more than circle, like & follow. Are you reading what you like? Do you know or even like the person you…

The social media marketing movement has the marketing world reconsidering everything and that’s a good thing. While progress is usually a good thing, it can create some friction that didn’t exist previously thus giving marketers fits.
One area where that has truly taken hold is content marketing. The idea alone is not new but the development of the discipline is. As a result, many marketers are recognizing the importance of content marketing as a whole. In fact, Econsultancy and Adobe’s first Quarterly Digital Intelligence Briefing (NOTE: No money to MP if purchased) points that out.

More valuable than advertising? Part of that equation comes from the fact that content marketing generates earned media opportunities which carry a lower cost and more targeting than traditional advertising. Notice there is no mention of free. If anyone uses the term free and social media in the same sentence they should be abducted a flogged by the Internet Marketing Secret Service (it exists for real you know).
The trouble comes in actually doing it. The execution and application of a real and effective content marketing strategy is much easier to discuss and plan than it is to…
Social Marketing is a new online business promotional tool but it is not a ‘magic bullet’. It will not instantly get you customers and profit if you do not know how to use it correctly.
There is a tendency in Social Marketing today to blindly leap on the bandwagon and create a Facebook Page or a Twitter account and then decide that ‘it does not really work’. Most people at this stage put it down to ‘it’s not for me. Can’t really be for everyone.’ Business is unfortunate in that it is truly unforgiving and has very few shortcuts you can take.
Social Marketing (which really should be referred to as Social Media Marketing) should provide:
A clear plan of action: What exactly will you say in the Social Media platforms. How and to Whom.
Engagement. This is related to the first point on the ‘How’. Social Media is not just another advertising platform. Think of it like your local pub with the world in it, rather than a digital billboard you can splash your message across.
Value. When you post on social networks you must provide true value for those who read your posts (see point one on ‘What’).…

Search Engine Optimization is the process of taking a page built by humans and making it easily consumable for both other humans and for search engine robots. This section details some of the compromises you will need to make in order to satisfy these two very important kinds of user.
One of the most common issues we hear from folks on both the business and technology sides of a company goes something like this:
“No smart engineer would ever build a search engine that requires websites to follow certain rules or principles in order to be ranked or indexed. Anyone with half a brain would want a system that can crawl through any architecture, parse any amount of complex or imperfect code and still find a way to return the best and most relevant results, not the ones that have been “optimized” by unlicensed search marketing experts.”
Sounds Brutal…
Initially, this argument can seem like a tough obstacle to overcome, but the more you’re able to explain details and examine the inner-workings of the engines, the less powerful this argument becomes.…
